I hate the ER

Again, trying to get into the mode of blogging. I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday. I went into a real Office and they did the test. I had mixed emotions. I was scared and excited. I have had problems in the past w/my pregnancy's. So I made the choice not to tell anyone. Well, Thursday at the scout store buying books and neck things ($45 later) my sister, Cathy called me. She was inquiring about Christmas, she is trying to get their tickets to fly up here. Well one thing led to another and I told her that I was pregnant. She was more exited than me. It really wasn't feeling right and that scared me. With our business Jimmy and I need to move a lot of heavy things. Well we had a job we had to finish and I had to help. I usually have no problem because I am freakishly strong but that day something felt wrong. Things were not moving as smoothly as we had hoped. We had to be back to pick up Kirby and then Hunter and, and, and... We had kept the girls with us so we wouldn't have to pay a babysitter, (Always thinking about money.) Always lots of junk to play with when cleaning out someones house.

Friday I woke up w/cramps in my lower abdomen. It progressively got worse through out the morning. But I had so much stuff to do, we had planned a sleepover for Hunter's b-day and there were 12 confirmed boys going to be at our house after school. At the time I planned it I thought I was so smart. Instead of the boys playing here I would reserve the church gym so they could go shoot hoop, have nerf gun wars, play broom hockey.... and then....

Terri, Carl and Cj were going to stop by around 12. They were in town for a dr visit. So I tried to start moving around 11. I went to the girls room because they have so many clothes that are too small, I started bagging them up. I got about 1/4 of the way through (2 bags) and the pain was so bad a just layed back on the floor and started crying. That was about the time Terri's family showed up. Jimmy had Terri take me to the ER and he would start cleaning the rest of the house, get the pizza, pick up the boys.... We arrived at the ER aroung 12:30. I don't like going to Doctor's period and I don't like ER's even more. Well, they assess who is the worst and who goes in first and I wasn't one of the "chest pain" people so I ended up waiting over 2 hours just to be seen. The nurse comes in and the first thing she says is "Your Dr was just assigned to the trauma's that just came in so it might be a while before he see's you." Great! She did and I V and couldn't get any blood out of it so she had to stick twice. Which I didn't really care about because I was going do to the Ultrasound. There is a sign on the wall that reads Labs 1 hour, ultrasound 1 to 2 hours, CT 2 hours,... We had only been in there for about an hour and I had already seen the dr and he had ordered an ultrasound. I was taken to the ultrasound rather quickly, so I started getting my hopes up. Silly me. The Ultrasound tech was really nice but there was something on the screen she didn't like, or know what it was so she called a Dr in there to look at it. Then the Dr reading for the ER came in and looked at it and he couldn't figure it out either. I made it back up to the room in the ER and it had taken one and half hours in ultrasound. then we had to wait for the dr again. It was around 5. I was getting frustrated and was ready to leave, so when the dr said that the ultrasound was inconclusive because they couldn't find any sign of pregnancy. I could have an eptopic pregancy and it could burst, he wanted to admit me to the hospital. Hello, I wanted to go home. I couldn't make up my mind and I said no, then I changed my mind and I was admitted. They wouldn't let me eat anything because if I had to go into surgery, they wanted it to be on an empty stomach. Well, Terri sat with me the whole time and she didn't eat either, I was starving so I know she had to be. Finally I made her go @ 7pm after they said they were getting the room ready. She left, thank goodness because I didn't get into my room till after 8. Crazy. I was still in pain, they gave me a morphine pump and "Ice chips" Yummy.
The hospital is no place to get any rest, they come in your room every 2 hours and get your blood pressure and your heart rate. So I ended up leaving the light on so I could go back to seleep easier. The nurses were very nice, (they couldn't really do anything for me.) So the next morning a OB doctor came in and asked if I wanted to go home and I said yes. He said there isn't anything they can do unless it erupts. YEAY! I get to go home. The pain wasn't as bad and I won't know anything till monday about the pregnancy or lack of pregnancy, which sucks but at lease I will be at home, in my own bed and not be kept awake by the air bed filling up and going down. Long story longer, I survived, Jimmy survived with the help of a blessed friend. She also brought over dinner on Sat, but I had made jimmy get out some meat and grill. That was just my story, Jimmy had the fun part w/all the boys. Then on Saturday I had told our Canandian cousin, who was in town, that we would watch their son while they went and did a session at the temple. It was a crazy weekend. And now I have month end to look forward to.
